Norman Makin was born on 31st Mar. 1889 at Petersham, N.S.W. He became an Hon. L.L.D. of Syracuse and Ohio Universities. From 1918-1919 he was President of the South Australian Labor Party, and from 1919-1946 was M.H.R. for Hindmarsh, S.A. He is a former Federal President of the Australian Labor Party.
